Ox Gallstone also called Bezoar Bovis, Nui Huang and Oriental Bezoar is used in Traditional Chinese medicine due to its medicinal properties. These gallstones are believed to possess calming, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory properties. The main constituent of bovine gallstone is the calcium salt of bilirubin, with lesser amount of cholic acid and deoxycholic acid. Gallstones are found in approximately 1 in every 300 cattle and range in size from a few grams to around 100 grams (average weight – 10 grams). Abattoirs can securely collect gallstone using Bio Pharma’s proprietary bile and gallstone collection devices. Gallstones are graded in Bio Pharma' AQIS licensed facility and in accordance with Pharmacopia Standards.

Artificial Bezoar
In addition to the collection and supply of gallstone Bio Pharma has the capability to produce a manufactured gallstone powder (artificial bezoar), with all of the active ingredients and at least 35 % bilirubin and other bile acids and ingredients. Certified artificial bezoar can be produced to various grades to satisfy market requirements. The highest grade will be 50% bilirubin and 25% cholic acid. All artificial bezoar products will exceed the Chinese Pharmacopoeia standard.
Bile Powders
We are offering some high quality Ox Bile Powder from Australian Quarantine and Inspection Services (AQIS) controlled BSE free herd and the bile is collected from export quality abattoirs. The powder contains all active ingredients and is available in different particle sizes according to requirements. Also we are offering some high quality Pig Bile Powder with all active ingredients from AQIS controlled export abattoirs. The pig bile is also available in different particle sizes according to requirements.
